Lifestyle-Boardzone was
established in 1997 out of my desire not only to be
independent but to continue my involvement in the sport
that I loved - Snowboarding. I had already been in the
industry for many years, but now I had control. Control
to be involved in kit that 'I believed in'. If I personally
would not ride a piece of kit, why should I expect you
too? Yes, sure there are a lot of people out there who
use one of the many 'step in' binding systems, and if
you want a discussion on the subject just call me, but
you will not find any form of this system on my shelves
- enough said. As for Snowboard brands, I continue this
belief, if the people behind the brands are 'true' to
the sport, and the product does what it says on the
tin then you will find it in Lifestyle. Brands like
Burton, Forum, Ride, K2, Demon, Anon, Adidas, R.E.D.,
Coalition, Volcom, and Quiksilver all have a place here.
What! this is not an e-commerce
site, but I only want to click on a picture of a piece
of kit and buy it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If only everything in life was that easy,
but unfortunately life is never that simple. Snowboarding
in particular is quite a technical sport with many design
criteria applied to all aspects of the equipment, and
unless you really fully understand all aspects of design
and construction, it is far too easy to buy the wrong
kit. I have been Snowboarding and in the industry for
twenty years, and as such have a wealth of knowledge
and experience, so why not take advantage of this pool
of FREE information? Talk To Me.
I 'pick up' so many people who buy kit
without enough knowledge to make the right decision,
who simply base their judgment on recommendation from
a 'mate' or it was cheap on e-bay. They later find that
they have wasted time, money and effort and ended up
with unsuitable kit. If you are near enough to visit
the shop, or even make an after hours appointment, I
can give you a FREE presentation on Snowboard construction
and design which simplifies all of the 'jargon' and
even give an overview of mountain safety if you like?
But be warned, if you do come for such a session I can
get as technical as you like, and find it difficult
to tell if you are REALLY interested or simply being
polite - so tell me to shut up when you have taken in
enough. If not, I can give you 'useful' advice over
the phone (01773 535293) or by e-mail (lifestyle@planetboardzone.co.uk)
As for skating, I can be as technical
on construction and design as well, but I am not such
a challenge here due to the fact that I am a crap skater,
but I do know and fully understand what A.B.E.C. stands
for, do you?
Remember these sports should be
fun, so don't get too intense.
So hopefully speak to you soon - Kind
